X. Hill is a film director and costume designer working in film, television, theater, new media and dance.  X. has written and directed Strangers (2019), Blocked, and Neighbors, films about the intersectionality of race and mental health, capturing the stories of those who are pressured by society to suffer in silence.

As a costume designer, X. has worked on Hamlet, Until, Until, Until…, and HATS, winner of Best Student Film and the Founder’s Award at the 2017 International Black Film Festival.  In New York, X. designed for The Hipster Show and assisted on Sleep No More and Gypsy of the Year 2015.

X. holds a Master’s of Fine Arts in Costume Design from CalArts, a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Eugene Lang Liberal Arts College.
