x. is a designer with a background in sustainability, textiles, and fashion. x. holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in fashion design from Parsons School of Design and a Bachelor’s of Arts in psychology from Eugene Lang Liberal Arts College.
x. is currently a Master’s of Fine Arts candidate at the California Institute for the Arts, studying costume design. While in New York, x. worked on several theatre shows on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway. x. has also worked with choreographers and independent filmmakers as a costume designer.
x. is a professional natural dyer, focusing on locally foraged and ethically sourced dyestuffs and fiber. She has studied with experts such as Liz Spencer of The Dogwood Dyer, and Isa Rodrigues and Nicole Asselin of the Textile Arts Center in Brooklyn, NY. For her thesis project, x. created a fashion collection with an emphasis on destigmatizing the feminine body utilizing ethical materials and sustainable dye practices using cochineal.
